The event is dedicated to the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people in 1944 and ways to restore the rights of Crimean Tatars within an independent Ukraine.
Participants will focus on the international recognition of the deportation as genocide, including the involvement of countries from the International Crimea Platform in the process.

The True History of Crimea is a documentary film by Ukrainian journalist, historian, and director Akim Galimov. The film debunks myths about Crimea and reveals its true history. The documentary highlights the extent to which Russian propaganda and colonization policy have destroyed the identity and culture of the indigenous peoples of Ukraine.

The discussion will focus on Russia’s responsibility and the impact of the war on European security. The first panel will discuss how to do justice for the victims of international crimes as a guarantee of stable peace. The second panel will elaborate on a national resilience strategy, discuss what lessons can be learned from Ukraine and how to adapt this experience in partner countries.
